I gave my Form 1 students a piece of journal writing homework a few months ago--I asked them to write at least 10 sentences beginning with "Happiness is..." They could give you lots and lots of ideas about how to be happy. As you can expect, it's not difficult to be happy after all. It can be very simple.
If you ask me, I will say it's all about the brain. For me, it's all about perception.
Anyway, being happy is supposed to be a human instinct, right? Don't think too much... sometimes, dwelling on something simple can be depressing :)
Ask your students to write at least 10 sentences beginning with "Sadness is..." I guess they could give you zillion answers because being sad is simple too. XP
Anyway, I'm not the kind of guy who believe "happiness saves the world", I'm more into the "dark side" (haha). Just bring up this topic for those who like to say "I want to be happy".
